Meet the Team

Loren Davidson, M.D.
Loren Davidson, M.D., a pediatric physiatrist, is the medical director of the inpatient rehabilitation program. Dr. Davidson earned his medical degree from University of California Davis School of Medicine and did his residency at the UC Davis Medical Center. An expert in spinal cord injury and medical management of complex neurological conditions, Dr. Davidson continues to contribute to the body of peer-reviewed research and foundational knowledge in pediatrics, including chapter contributions in Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics and Chapmanās Orthopedics. He is the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PMR) fellowship director and residency director at the UC Davis Medical Center.
Maya Evans, M.D.
Maya Evans, M.D., is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist and is the medical director of the spina bifida program. She is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in brain injury medicine as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is an associate clinical professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at University of California Davis School of Medicine.
Shawna Arsenault, M.D.
Shawna Arsenault, M.D., is a physiatrist who specializes in pediatric rehabilitation medicine and who has an interest in children with special needs and limb deficiencies. Dr. Arsenault earned her medical degree from Georgetown University, did her residency at Washington University in St. Louis and was fellowship trained in rehabilitation medicine at Emory University, Atlanta. She is an assistant clinical professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at University of California, Davis School of Medicine.
Sandy Reina-Guerra PT, DPT, PCS
Sandy Reina-Guerra, PT, DPT, PCS is an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) certified pediatric clinical specialist, coordinator of the hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, and provides physical therapy services at Northern California Shriners Hospital. Formally, she was an Associate Professor of physical therapy and department chair at University of the Pacific, Stockton. She is co-editor and author of the 7th edition of the textbook Umphred's Neurological Rehabilitation.
